We grew food!
This year Warrington PCI partnered with MicroHabitat to transform some of the rooftops of buildings we manage into urban farms. Optimizing the unused space, we helped to reduce heat islands and flooding, improved biodiversity, provided stops for pollinators and grew 2300 pounds of vegetables, edible flowers and herbs, all of which was donated to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Food Stash Foundation and the Aboriginal Front Door Society. Our partnership also donated 430 meals to the Breakfast Club of Canada.We look forward to more gardening and other initiatives as we move towards achieving our sustainability goals.
